What is Salt Hydrolysis
Salt Hydrolysis occurs when a weak acid produces a conjugate base (salt). The base (salt) fully dissociates in water where the resulting ion reacts with water to produce the weak acid and a hydroxide ion resulting in a more basic solution.

 i.e. CH3COOH + NaOH <----> CH3COONa + H2O
CH3COONa ---> CH3COO- + Na+
CH3COO- + H2O <----> CH3COOH + OH-

vice versa for weak bases
