What are some red flags to think about in a child with fever?

Commit #110863- Ill appearing on physical exam
- ALL neonates < 28 days (4 weeks)
- HSV features esp if maternal risk factors (mucocutaneous vesicles, seizures, focal neuro findings)
- Neonates < 3 mos with clinical or lab features that suggest bacterial infx
- Lack of immunization
- Inconsolable
- Resp distress (decreased O2 sat, nostril flaring, grunting, intercostal or subcostal indrawing, supraclavicular or suprasternal indrawing/ retraction, scalene m use (palpation), adventitious sounds)
- Lethargy, listlessness, toxic appearance
- Petechiae, purpura
- Non-blanching rash
- Travel history
- Chronic fever, FoUO
- True hypotension
