Back
Commit #105003- Impact: Congenital toxoplasmosis can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, or serious complications such as hydrocephalus, intracranial calcifications, chorioretinitis, seizures, and developmental delays.
- Preventive Measures: Avoiding raw or undercooked meat, washing hands and kitchen utensils thoroughly, avoiding contact with cat feces, and ensuring good hygiene practices.
- Treatment: Spiramycin to reduce the risk of transmission to the fetus; if fetal infection is confirmed, pyrimethamine, sulfadiazine, and folinic acid are used.
