A machine on your network has its TTL set to a very high number. What issues could this cause?

If the time to live, or TTL, is set too high, then the local cache could sit unchanged for a long time. This means that the device may not be aware of changes to the DNS server it originally queried, or of changes to IP addresses held in its cache, since it may not have queried them in a while.
