FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is similar to SFTP but has some important differences. What port numbers does it use, and how does it differ from SFTP?

FTP uses tcp/20 ("active mode data" - used when actively transferring a file) and tcp/21 ("control" - used when dictating which file to send). FTP, unlike SFTP which uses SSH, is not encrypted.
