CAR-CON

Color - Pale, mottled, cyanotic 
Activity - Confused, lethargic, hypotonic,usually weak cry 
Respiration - Tachypnoea, grunting, hypoxia, ++WOB
Circulation -
  • Poor feeding: dry mucous membranes, tachy, --skin tugor, -- urine output
  • Warn shock (common in adolescents): flushed, widened PP (pulse pressure), CRT <2s
  • Cold Shock (common in neonates/infants): pale, narrow PP, CRT > 2s
Other
  • fever >5 days, focal infection, non-blanching pupura, erythematous rash
  • Focal infection features
Neurological - Bulging/tense fontanelle, stiff neck, seisures, focal neuro symptoms
