Commit #18662You are attending an elective list – the first case in an inguinal
hernia. You get a call from your consultant who says he’s running half an hour
late and asks you if you can just get started with the list. You agree, and
start operating on the first patient who has an inguinal hernia. You make your
incision and cut down to the fascia, but are unable to locate a hernia sac. The
circulating nurse then tells you that this patient has a right sided inguinal
hernia documented on his consent form, but your incision is on the left.
